March 24th is #WorldTBDay
Most often affecting the lungs, Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that can spread through coughing, sneezing or spitting.
Although TB is preventable and curable, it remains one of the most common and deadly infectious diseases worldwide.
The World Health Organization (WHO) lists the following facts related to TB:
– Global efforts resulted in 75 million lives saved since 2000
– 10.6 million people fell ill with TB in 2022
– 1.3 million people died of TB in 2022
– Multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) is classified as a public health crisis and remains a health security threat.
On this #WorldTBDay, let’s take a moment to reflect on how we can support the prevention, detection & treatment of TB across all levels.
At Superior IPAC Solutions, we support organizations in implementing interventions aimed to increase awareness and prevent the spread of Tuberculosis.
